Rocked by Love A Beauty and Beast Novel Gargoyles Series Christine Warren Books
I really love this series but this book made no sense. The 7 guardians were created to make sure the 7 demons can be contained. So tell me why four Guardians and their four Wardens could not contain one demon? The whole premise of this series flies in the face of the battle at the end of this book. I will still continue on until the last guardian and his warden solve this dilemma for me. At least I am hoping the rest of the series makes more sense then this book did. Besides I was not crazy about the relationship between Dag and Kiley, they didn't seem to click like the others. According to the summary on the back of the book Dag was supposed to be the strongest of the guardians, but nowhere was that addressed or even mentioned in the book. He was just another guardian to the others and received no special recognition as someone stronger. I am waiting for Warren to bring this all together in her next books in a better way then she has not done in this one.

Rocked by Love A Beauty and Beast Novel Gargoyles Series Christine Warren Books Reviews
I disliked this book. Her heroine was an annoying person. Her constant complaints interrupted the narrative. I have all of her former books in the series and had kept them in my collection. After this book, I put all 4 in my get rid of pile.
I really enjoyed it. I read the others, and I kind of liked them better. more of a closure to them, but you knew there would be more exciting stuff coming in other books. The only difference with this one was all the Yiddish. just very hard to follow along sometimes. and wasn't thrilled with the ending. so glad there will be other books, but no closure to the enemy in this one. loved the characters, even the grandmother.
DNF... I didn’t care for Kylie, she made herself spoiled and well off by the age 23. Her language was confusing that I got lost trying to figure out what she said. I mostly read from Dag’s p.o.v since I got lost in Kylie’s. I’ve read the first 3 and I never had a problem until now. I’m off to read #5.....
Love these books. Gargoyles coming alive hunky ones at that. Was just thinking I hadn't seen a new one come out and here it was. Another one is found by another new mate of course. Fast paced book, u want the ending to be longer, but never long enough. Read the books, cause they r great.. Dag is the newest one found when he saves a girl from the evil ones doing to dirty work of the 7 trying to get back to earth to cause hell on earth. Can't wait for the next one to come out.. 📚
This is yet another in the gargoyle romance series about the Wardens and sexy gargoyles and the seven evil demons. It fun. This one has a big Yiddish theme going through it. It's totally overdone and mildly annoying because all the Yiddish is italicized and has the English right after so it's redundant. It gets in the way. Anyway... I am forgiving it and hoping the next book in the series isn't a language lesson.
Well, let me see, this is a better book than some of the others and it came closer to book 1 which is still my favorite.
The random use of Yiddish throughout the book was distracting, on a similar note the Grandmother was vastly underused and could have made this a better book. "You hurt my Granddaughter and I will make you wish your mother stayed a virgin"
The actual couple after they got a few wrinkles ironed out was excellent and I laughed more during this book than most of the others.
The big action sequence seemed a bit off and the buildup was about to get boring and these anti-climatic endings are getting old but I can see the author is trying to work us up to a big finish but we need a bit more progress on the overarching plot.
The initial meeting and the romance did not click as well as some of the others but they were still more entertaining so it might be a trade-off.
Bottom Line I still enjoy this series and think this was the best book since book 1 in several ways and not in others but overall, I enjoyed it, I laughed and I was holding my breath during the "big finish" but was left a wee bit unsatisfied but this may be my own impatience rather than the authors lacking. 4 Stars and will be reading the next one.
In book 4 of her Gargoyles series, Christine Warren rocks it!
I know everybody technically says that books can be read as a stand alone, but I don't find that to be the case in this series. I have been reading them in the order they were released since the first, and I can honestly say if Rocked By Love had been my introduction to this world I'd have to immediately read the first three to make better sense of it all.
Kylie is a computer geek extraordinaire who has parlayed her gifts into a multimillion dollar early retirement. She is truly close to only two people, her Yiddish grandmother and her best friend, Bran. When he goes missing then is declared dead by his sister Wynn, Kylie is devastated but not so much that she is willing to swallow the official explanation of his demise.
Her investigation and hacking skills pull her into danger as she comes across words and phrases like Guardian and Warden and references to a demon led apocalypse, so she sets up a meet with a secretive contact. He doesn't show up but she is attacked by two men and rescued by a stone gargoyle who comes to life.
Dag is a stern no nonsense gargoyle Guardian tasked with saving the world; Kylie a quirky, spunky de facto Warden and together they have to find clues as to what may be the kickoff to the evil Seven taking over the world and bringing on the end of it with their amassed forces of evil.
I will admit this story is my favorite of the series due solely to Kylie's engaging voice. I know some tiny half Jewish spitfires myself, and I swear I could hear Kylie speaking in my friend Tricia's voice for the entire book. Her snarkiness, attitude and Yiddish expressions had me laughing out loud. I wish a little more time had been devoted to grandma Esther because she was awesome.
Major leap forward in the overall story arc, so I am really looking forward to the next in the series as we apparently head to Ireland for book 5. Can't wait!
