This book could have been awesome but…There was a ton of sex in this book. I started to think Ellie was really a dog in heat. It became a little unbelievable and diluted the already shallow love story. If I wanted a sex book, I would have bought something like “My Alien Gladiator Scottish Highlander Baby Daddy and Me”.
Her character was a bland. I could see some development but we had to take the author’s word for it that she was smart and kind. She came off more as a dull pushover. More development of her character and less of her sex drive would have made her a more interesting and sympathetic character.
Jack’s character was likeable and understandable until he said some really, really cruel things to Ellie in an over the top way. It was just too much and unjustifiable. I’ve been married for over 21 years. If my husband had done that to me, I’d still be mad (and probably not be married to him). Why make it so outrageously mean? It was a swoon kill.
I didn’t like the time spent on the gay couple and their marriage plans. I felt like I was being proselytized. Guess what, I’m still not a fan of gay romance but now I’m resentful that it was pushed on me for 150 pages.

What a great book, stayed up all night reading. My new favourite author! Wonderful, realistic characters, good story. Just by and read it!
The book was in good condition and the story was very cute.
I just finished this book, and i have to say that I couldn't put it down and am now suffering from severe lack of sleep! I only discovered this author about a week ago as I am always looking for new Brit chic lit, there weren't many reviews but I thought I'd give it a try. I am so glad I did, the characters were engaging and entertaining, it made me laugh and cry, and really care what happened to them, just a great book if you like me love Jill Mansell and Fiona Walker then you'll love this, I've just ordered her other book and will continue to watch for her next ones!
Really enjoyed this. Easy read, lots of humorous & romantic moments.
"...and then the knickers are going to sing"
At this point i wondered if my hasty download (which didn't include taking advantage of the 'look inside' facility)was a mistake - that 'Who's Afraid of Mr Wolfe?' was going to be too chicklit for me.
I needn't have worried. By page 2 i was hooked. 'Who's Afraid of Mr Wolfe?' was one of those books that had me sneaking off to read whenever the opportunity arose. I wanted to devour it and yet make it last as i knew i would be hard pressed to find such an absorbing book to follow it. Osmond writes in an intelligent, thoughtful and witty way, with characters who are both memorable and believable.
The Mr Wolfe of the the title is the charismatic new boss of our heroine (Ellie's) Ad agency. He's the sort of man women love and men would love to be - but Ellie is not convinced.I don't think it is a spoiler to reveal that romance beckons - along with the usual misunderstandings and roadblocks. But that is not to say that this story was in any way predictable. Osmond keeps us on our toes throughout and i couldn't predict the ending until the very last page.
This is Osmonds first novel - but i was thrilled to read that her next one is in production. I will certainly buy that the moment it is published. In the meanwhile, i will enjoy re reading this one.
It always happens to me that when I read a British author I feel a little confused but then I end up loving they're stories because they have soooo much more than a simple love story.
Really loved this book, but I wish that the heroine had more of back bone towards the end of the book. She forgave him a bit too easily...
